Vaginal candidiasis or yeast infection of the vagina or vaginal thrush is the most common reason for vaginal discharge and itching. The discharge is typically thick white cheesy. Treatment is oral and local antifungal medicine. Prolonged antibiotic use, uncontrolled diabetes, poor hygiene and weak immune system are the risk factors for vaginal candidiasis.
